The Flock - Ngā Tamariki o Tāne

Kia ora Whānau,

Our Inquiry theme this term in Te Pihinga is Kaitiakitanga. We are looking broadly at endemic birds of New Zealand and what we can do to tautoko our birds.  Check out our awesome "The Flock" artwork for the following braided river birds -  Rāpunga (Black Billed Gull), Ngutuparore (Wrybill), and Tara Piroe (Black Fronted Tern).  The Flock initiative was set up to draw awareness to the various endemic bird species that live in our braided rivers.  Special thanks also to Resene Rangiora for providing discounted paints.

We stayed overnight at school. We wanted to look at the Matariki stars in the early morning
