Māra Kai

Each Thursday afternoon while the Yr 7&8's are at technology the year 5's from Te Pihinga and yr 6's from Te Māhuri have been busy in the community māra (garden). 

First we weeded our plot...

...then we each planted our own radish seeds.

 

It wasn't long before we were able to eat them.

We harvested kānga to boil and eat with loads of butter - mmmmm!

We harvested tomatoes from our māra and made cheese and tomato toasties - he reka!
